Stride® Rewind® supplies a uniquely powerful form of omega-3’s which act as natural anti-inflammatories in the body. The unique omega-3 fatty acid, Eicosatetraenoic acid (ETA), is a drug-free alternative for reducing pain caused by chronic inflammation. Researchers believe ETA is an effective natural alternative to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for people battling arthritis and pain associated with chronic low grade inflammation.
Osteoarthritis causes pain, reduced mobility, and reduced quality of life. Omega-3 supplements such as fish oil are often recommended as natural alternatives for reducing pain and inflammation. Rewind® has proven to be much more effective than fish oil in relieving joint pain.
In a research trial, the unique ingredient in Rewind® decreased pain associated with osteoarthritis by 89% over a 12 week period. A significant reduction of pain was observed at 4 weeks and then continued to decease linearly for 12 weeks. Fish oil did not provide significant pain relief at any point in the 12 week trial.
Mode of Action
Rewind® is unique because it contains a specific omega-3 fatty acid chain called Eicosatetraenoic acid (ETA) which is sourced from Perna canaliculus (New Zealand Green Lipped Mussel). ETA is an incredibly potent anti-inflammatory because it helps the body make lipoxin.
Lipoxins are compounds within the body used for controlling inflammation and promoting healing. In fact, researchers have found the use of ETA and its natural process of controlling inflammation to be more effective than non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as ibuprofen and aspirin). Studies show patients consuming ETA have improved range of motion in joints and less pain associated with arthritis.
One very beneficial aspect of ETA is that it utilizes the safe and beneficial COX-1 pathway to stop inflammation in the body.
Only COX-1 enzymes produce prostaglandins that activate platelets and protect the stomach and intestinal lining. This is especially important because it means ETA will not cause ulcers or gastric hemorrhage which is a common side effect of anti-inflammatory drugs.
